How do you get your music into the Rock Band Network?
It's quite easy, just follow the steps below and you will be on your way to stardom
Step 1: Sign up!
Register on www.TheRockPulse.com.
Step 2: Submit a song
In the Log-In section, click on “Submit a Song.” This is where you will upload a Mp3 of the song that you would like to be considered for the Rock Band Network. Please fill out all relevant info about your band, song, record label, etc.
Once submitted, The Rock Pulse will accept or decline the song. This is based mostly on how well the song could be played in Rock Band. For example, we will most likely reject a song with a lead flute, backup cello, and no singer.
If your song is accepted, you will receive The Rock Pulse’s terms and conditions contract. This will be sent to the email that you registered with on our site. If you have any legal questions prior to submitting music, please contact us.
Step 3: Submit your Stems
Once the contract is agreed to and signed by all parties involved, the next step is to “Submit a Stem.” This is also found in the Members area. A stem is simply a soloed version of an instrument. For example, in a typical Rock song, there would be a guitar stem, bass stem, vocal stem, kick stem, snare stem, and kit stem. For a full list of stems, see the FAQ, #14.
Once we receive the stems, we can go to work. Current turn-around time is roughly 4-6 weeks. This includes time for us to develop the song and turn it into a playable song for the Rock Band Network, community feedback, and overall acceptance by Harmonix to make sure all standards are met.
Step 4: Sit back and Relax
Upon Harmonix approving, your song, it will be added to the Rock Band Network store, where anybody playing Rock Band can download for a set price of $1, $2, or $3. Songs are searchable by genre, artist, and song name.
The Rock Pulse then collects money from the downloaded sales and pays out quarterly (4 times a year). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are looking forward to working with you!
